Diane von Furstenberg remains one of the grande dames in today’s fashion world, with decades of experience providing sophisticated designs to a discerning clientele. DVF began life as Diane Simone Michelle Halfin in Brussels, Belgium, and later married Prince Egon von Furstenberg to become Princess Diane of Furstenberg. She introduced her signature piece, the wrap dress, in 1973 -- an example of which appears in the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A relaunch of the wrap dress in 1997 marked the renaissance of the design, marked by ever-increasing popularity. DVF’s overall popularity has grown to the point that she has been able to spend the past year opening a number of DVF boutiques, allowing visitors in select cities worldwide to select her designs in person.
